Biography
John P. Kee (born June 4, 1962, in Durham, North Carolina) is a renowned gospel singer, songwriter, and pastor, often called the “Prince of Gospel Music.” He is celebrated for his powerful voice and his ability to blend traditional gospel with contemporary sounds.
In his early teens, Kee moved to California to study music and later performed with groups like Cameo and Donald Byrd. After returning to North Carolina, he founded the New Life Community Choir and later the Victory in Praise Mass Choir, both of which became influential in gospel music.
Over his 35+ year career, Kee has released numerous hit albums, earned multiple Stellar and Billboard awards, and was inducted into the Christian Music Hall of Fame. In 1995, he became the full-time pastor of New Life Fellowship Centerin Charlotte, where he continues to serve and mentor through music and ministry.
