Biography
Darius Brooks, an influential figure in Gospel music for over four decades, has left an indelible mark as a songwriter, singer, arranger, and producer. His creative impact extends internationally, reaching places like Great Britain, Sweden, Scandinavia, Italy, South Africa, and Germany. Known for timeless gospel classics, including “Safe in His Arms” and “God’s Got It,” Brooks continues to contribute to the genre’s rich history. As the visionary behind The Tommies Reunion, comprised of former members of the Thompson Community Singers, Brooks revitalized a cherished gospel legacy. Touring the country and set to release a new project, the group maintains their contemporary gospel sound. Despite numerous awards, including Grammy, Stellar, and Dove Awards, Brooks found his greatest calling as the senior pastor of Grace Central Church since 2009. Before pastoral duties, he tirelessly spread the gospel through music and activism, working with Rev. Jesse Jackson and Operation Push for over 30 years. As CEO of JMG Entertainment, LLC, and Grace Central Outreach, Brooks continues to make a positive impact, also leading the SDM Foundation for the Education and the Arts to mentor aspiring young talents in the performing arts. Brooks, along with his wife Deborah and daughter Dasha, resides in the Chicagoland area.
